Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Nicole Gansemer, a Naturopathic Physician licensed in the state of Oregon. I graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, OR where I earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine.
I am more than your average doctor. I see you as a unique individual. I take the time to sit and listen to your health story. Together we will take a deep dive into your journey to find the root cause of your ailments paving the way to the healthiest version of you. My goal is to educate, inspire, and guide you on your path to wellness.
I provide holistic support for my patients by weaving together Eastern and Western medicine to help facilitate deep healing of the mind, body, and spirit. In addition to being a Naturopathic Doctor, I have studied plant medicines from around the world ranging from the Amazon Jungle to the forests of the Pacific Northwest and have additional training in Craniosacral Therapy and Sound Healing. These modalities, in addition to my medical training, have laid a strong foundation for my practice.
My Journey
My path to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor was not straightforward. Growing up in rural Iowa, I had never heard of Naturopathic Medicine. I had always known that I wanted to be in the medical field. I spent my high school days preparing to become a Pharmacist. After two years in an accelerated pre-pharmacy program at Drake University,
I decided that it was not the profession for me. I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Multidisciplinary Sciences at the University of Iowa.
After college, I moved to Denver, CO where I worked in several hospitals in preparation to apply to Physician Assistant programs. This, again, did not feel right. This was not the medicine I felt destined to practice, so I stepped away from the healthcare system for a couple of years to re-evaluate my life’s path.
Two years later, by chance, Naturopathic Medicine found me. As I began to research this system of medicine, I knew immediately that I had found my path. The six principles of naturopathic medicine fully aligned with how I wanted to help people heal. A few months later, I packed my bags for the Pacific Northwest to continue my education.
When I am not seeing patients, I am usually hiking through the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, tending to my garden, cooking nourishing meals, and practicing yoga.
